Are you in need of guidance in your decision making ability? Do you want to know the future? Then Bibliomancy, the ancient art of foretelling the future and for gaining intuitive insights using books, may be for you. Every day we are faced with decision after decision whether it be how to deal with a troublesome person or situation, finding the best way out of a predicament or wanting to know how things will work out in the future. We are all faced from time to time with questions like "What should I do?" or ? What's going to happen?? And it's only natural for us to want to find answers to our questions. Some ask close family or friends for advice, whilst others seek guidance and clarity from professional advisors such as counsellors, psychics or clairvoyants.
It's not surprise that many world leaders, business people and celebrities have consulted psychics for advice. Consulting the Oracle, Soothsayer or village wise person who had the gift of seeing into the future was common practice in ancient times. Napoleon consulted his ?book of fate ?before embarking on many of his successful enterprises, whilst Queen Elizabeth I employed the famous occultist John Dee and Edward Kelly, who predicted the Spanish attempt to invade England in 1588 and the execution of Mary, Queen of Scots.
Are you in need of spiritual guidance? Do you want to know the future? Then Bibliomancy, the ancient art of foretelling the future using books, may be for you.
Bibliomancy is a divinational practice for seeking spiritual insight by selecting a random passage from a Holy Book. The word bibliomancy is derived from the Greek word 'biblos', which means paper or book, originating from the Phoenician City of that name, which exported paper products. ?Mancy? means divination or prophesy.
Records of using a sacred book for divinational purposes go back as far as three thousand years, when the ?I Ching? was first used to predict the future. Some psychics and mystics believe Bibliomancy to be the Western civilisations answer to the I Ching. However, Jews and Christians have the used the Torah or Bible, whilst Moslems use the Quran (Koran) for divinational purposes. Before the Bible, in pagan times, Homer (sortes Homericę© and Virgil (sortes Virgilianę© were similarly used. The French mystic, physician and prophet Nostradormus also made his predictions through the ancient art of Bibliomancy. One interesting and useful aspect of using religious books is the use of numbers that are scattered throughout the works. By deciphering the numerical value in lines of text or passages, you can gain significant meaning using the ancient art of Pythagoran numerology.
Throughout history other forms of literature have been used, for example in similar techniques to Bibliomancy called Rhapsodomancy and Stichomancy. In these two systems, selecting a random passage from the works of Shakespeare, Greek epics, classical poetry or metaphysical books of wisdom such as, the book of Tao or works of the American psychic Edgar Cayce, have been found to be just as effective
Stichomancy uses the same technique as Bibliomancy except any book off the shelf can be used for this purpose. However in the divinitory variation called ? Rhapsodomancy? some psychics specifically refer to it as being performed only with works of poetry, others believe that books of metaphysical significance are necessary.
All that's really required is a book with passages that are meaningful to you. This could be a works of poetry or any other spiritual or literary works. Alternatively use whatever you feel comfortable with. This could also include making up your own collection of meaningful phrases, sayings or short passages. The more pages the better, as the general idea is not to become too familiar with the layout of the pages.
The method used to pick random passage from a book to answer a question is pretty straight forward, and you should begin by first taking two or three breaths and relaxing. The next step is to close your eyes and try to connect yourself with the Universe, your spirit guide or who or whatever you hold in reverence. What you're after is a sense of positive expectation that your question will be answered. Following on from this, think about the question that you would like to ask, this could be spoken out loud, or in your mind. It might also be helpful if you wrote down your question and placed it in front of you. The next step is to take hold of the book with the spine facing your hand, and then randomly select a page. When you feel ready, slide your finger down the page until you feel the urge to stop. Then open your eyes and read the message, line or passage in the book where your finger is pointing, and think about how it relates to your question. An alternative way to get an answer is by placing the book on its spine, with your eyes closed, allow the book to fall open to a random page. Still with your eyes closed place your finger intuitively on the open page and read the passage, sentence or word.
The answer may not be obvious at first, but it will contain within it the right answer for you. If after some serious thought you still don't understand the answer, give it a break and walk away, and carry on with something else. In this way you are allowing your mind and intuition to process the information. When you feel ready take another look at the text. The techniques, like any other does take practice, so don't be put of if you don't get an instant result; you can always try again. The main thing to remember is not to over do it, this is not a party game and it would be best to avoid testing or experimenting for self-gratification or to impress people. Treat the process seriously and with respect and it will serve you well for years to come.

When Intention Is Not Enough
Copyright 2006 Lisa Ann Homic, M.Ed. D.C.
We all have moments when we want to improve something in our lives. Whether it is to lose weight, exercise more, fight less with family, or remember birthdays, the attempt fades into the distance when we are slaves to our stress induced schedules. It is not that easy to add something new to the plate when it is already full.
And we all have good intentions. We talk to ourselves constantly about the other things we should be doing. When that little voice inside says, ?Easier said than done?? we resign ourselves to doing nothing.
Many self help groups profess recognizing the problem as a first step. It may be a vision of better things to come, but it is not a literal step. It is just a stance. There is no movement. There is no action. I may be mincing words, but it is just an excuse to procrastinate. There is no true commitment. There is only a commitment to continue ruminating. This is no revelation, but stalling often results in that ?icky? and uncomfortable feeling. Sometimes that feeling is enough to move someone to address permanent change. Often the feeling is overridden and ignored similar to a pebble in the shoe. It can be painful for so long but the owner never realizes the opportunity to take the pebble out of the shoe.
We are living in a stressful world and our shoes are filled with pebbles. Sometimes we feel we are not in control enough to take the pebbles out. We are prisoners to our jobs because a career change is perceived as too risky and the family needs to keep the health insurance benefits thanks to an unpredictable economy. Changes are difficult to make for similar reasons. There are so many priorities. Choices that are perceived to be too selfish, are rejected.
There is a point in time when good intentions are not enough. Prisons are filled with people who had good intentions but gave in to temptation and peer pressure. We do not have to imprison ourselves by our own expectations. Expectations can be changed.
The first real step to take is to identify one activity that you wish to change or discontinue and internalize all the negative drawbacks of staying the same. Tony Robbins eloquently explains this in his book, Awaken the Giant Within. Differentiating between the drives of pain and pleasure is how he addresses this in the book. He teaches how to invest the time to practice ?reliving? the negative outcomes so the temptation is decreased. Using a support network to reinforce rather than enable is crucial, as well. Sometimes this requires letting go of unfulfilling relationships. A personal coach is a great asset to help keep the goals alive when we are still in the habit of getting lost in the details of day to day activities. Coaching helps reshape the ?worker bee mentality? so focusing on real change is followed by real success.

An interest in the link between the mind and body motvated me to pursue a doctorate in chiropractic after working as a therapist for the chronically mentally ill. Molecules of Emotion, written by Candice Pert, PhD, eloquently explains how the body, mind, and emotions influence vitality. Now as a "Create Purpose" Coach, I teach a system of achieving goals that maintains the focus on a personal mission statement that reinforces congruence in all actions. "The way you take care of your health is the same way you take care of everything else," is one of the first concepts I discuss with coaching clients. The coaching system is introduced at http://www.CreatePurpose.com .
How To Overcome The Failing Job Market

Tips For Achieving The knowledge Necessary To Win.
Today's market place and employment prospects are far tougher than it has been in many years. Opportunities for employment simply don't exist in the manner that they once had.
With employers seeking the younger prospects and a market place overwhelmed with folks who prior to losing their jobs, used to be able to easily produce an income of 65k to 125k are now excepting employment at a fraction of what their incomes were, many of them, by as much as 60 % of their previous income.
A recent online survey taken from Aug.15 through Aug. 31 2006 with a participation of 2123 respondents, shows just how little most know when it comes to positioning ones self for a perspective employer.
51.2 percent of those who responded to the survey put very little emphasis into the importance of writing a resume and cover letter and finding out exactly what works today, instead of what worked a few years ago. They were still using a resume that had been written as many as six years or prior and simply adding their last place of employment.
23.2 percent of those surveyed believed that it was very important and simply lacked the knowledge and skills it took to write a resume and cover letter that was effective and did very little research to find out what was working today and what was not working.
25.6 percent did whatever it took to produce an award winning resume and cover letter that pulled the attention of the employer and position them-selves as one of the top candidates for the position.
There are only a few ways to win in these days of tougher requirements. When I say tougher, I mean the average, every day individual, who has either been downsized out of his or her job or has decided to re-enter the job market or someone who is looking to improve their present situation.
Your resume and cover letter is very simply the single most important tool in your achieving the success your looking for. Other than attending school and receiving a degree with job placement almost guaranteed.
Let me share a personal story. Back In 1999 things were a little tough a rough patch in life so to speak. This demonstrates what has happened in applying for and getting a job. It was a simple job. I mean, the Position was laying Sod and cleaning up after carpenters, yet you'd think this is no-brainer. Low and behold they not only a resume and cover letter they also wanted a Bachelors Degree. This is what the employment landscape has become so now more than ever, it important to get all the advantages could possibly get you hands on.
There are only a few ways one could go about fixing this particular problem. You could search endlessly on the Internet trying to piece everything together bit by bit and hope that they are getting what is needed to succeed today in resume and cover letter writing.
You could in fact hire this task done and that is where some of 25.6 percent had fallen. You'll find a cost range of anywhere from $25.00 to as much as $150.00. When one chooses to take on this method, be certain that you have a minimum of 10 to 12 references that you can make contact with to find out the quality of work produced and the successes achieved by a particular writer.
Last but not least, one could easily learn and master the skill of writing a winning resume and cover letter. There are a number of well written and informative guides available to you on the market that will teach step by step how to produce the kind of resume and cover letter that will help you win this battle.
